The NHTSA-compliant Braun Millennium Series is the workhorse of the Braun line. Designed to fit a variety of installations from paratransit vans to school buses, transit agencies across the nation rely on the Millennium Series to keep their fleets up and running day after day, year after year.
( Braun Millennium Series ) lifts are fully-compliant with all requirements of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Several mechanisms integrated into the design of the lift ensure a safe operating environment for passengers and attendants alike.
The hydraulic outer barrier engages as the lift platform leaves the ground. It is powder-coated yellow for safety and high visibility.
To ensure the safety of wheelchair users and attendants, lift operation is prevented if the locking inboard barrier is occupied or is unable to come to its fully upright position.
If the threshold warning plate is occupied when the lift platform is below vehicle floor level, lift operation will be prevented, and visual/audible warnings will alert passengers and attendants to unsafe conditions.
Integrated lighting fully illuminates the lift platform during all stages of operation
As with all Braun lifts, the Millennium Series features an ergonomic hand-held control with illuminated functions. The control features a "telephone-style" cord, simplifying replacement in the field.
Prior to assembly, each lift component is subjected to a five-stage wash before receiving a baked-on powder-coated finish. The end result is a lift that will withstand the harshest of environments, from desert sun to northern winters.
The lifts are built with adjustable features that ensure a "rattle-free" environment. Strategically placed rubber bumpers guarantee that the lift remains tightly stowed and quiet during transit.
The compact hydraulic pump module can be rear- or front-mounted depending on installation requirements. The molded cover can easily be removed for routine maintenance or to access the manual back-up pump.
The patented Lift-Tite latches prevent platform "drift" when the lift is stowed and unused for longer periods of time. The latches automatically engage to prevent the platform from unfolding and causing possible damage to the vehicle's doors.
Lifts are fully hydraulic in operation, for both the fold/unfold and up/down cycles. Lift operation is controlled by the hand-held pendant control.
It is available in platform widths of 30", 33", and 34". The standard platform length for all models is 51". There are two maximum floor-to-ground dimensions: 42" and 48". It is rated at 800 lb lifting capacity — 33% more than the NHTSA requirement.
The Millennium Series interfaces readily with OEM interlocks.
